I really like the whole "scooping up the other food with her mouth right in front of you" thing, to show off power. Maybe you could surround the landscape with pieces of candy (prob gummi bears, as they can be thought of as the same size as the POV) and watch as she meticulously decides who will be next.
The "when will I be chosen?" aspect has a lot of fun to explore. There can be a lot of tension (hmm who will it be), lots of close up sniffing and tasting, lots of fake-outs (actually, not yet, I like this one more instead).
